Cillian Ryan(Director)
If the Oxford English Dictionary had a definition for a weathered weekend warrior, Cillian would be it. Belly against the starting tape, dressed as if he should be on some professional circuit (and unfortunately, he thinks that this gives him the right to squeeze in to "professional sizes"), Cillian is never one to shy away from any multisport race. Maybe, bless him, sometimes he should.
Irish born, Cillian came up with the concept of TRIBAL in late 2012, and has been collaborating with international triathlon stores and brands to make sure that the vision he has is carried out properly. He is passionate about all three disciplines of triathlon, and can often be caught trying to bring any conversation back to the sport. His dedication and drive for TRIBAL, is immense and he is a key factor in putting all the pieces of the puzzle together.
Siobhan Ryan (Director)
Siobhan puts a whole new meaning to the word endurance. Our resident legal eagle and the person, that you don't run your work past if it's not 100%, Siobhan is one of the key factors in TRIBAL working. This, coupled with the fact that she seems to work on less sleep than a teen in Ibiza, makes it almost impossible to match her work ethic and enthusiasm for TRIBAL.
Siobhan's past is a myriad of degrees in legal and scientific backgrounds; although not as keen in the participation of a triathlon (ahem...yet), she can provide valuable insight in to what is needed in the shop to become a triathlete and the importance of a good spectators arena at an event. But don't question her athletic ability- the TRIBAL team are convinced she is the only one to have ever swam a gala in the Joan Harrison, COMPLETELY UNDERWATER.
Katy Knight (Director)
At the beginning of time, if God had asked for Katy's help, the world would be done in 3 days... And then they would have gone for sundowners. Katy's ability to multitask is famous in the Tribal offices, and no matter how much she has on, she
always manages to deliver on time- and get a gym session in. A very handy runner in her own right, Katy is at home over any distance: be it the 5km Nahoon Parkrun or the Black Ops Warrior Challenge in Cape Town.
Katy has a background in media, and her ability to liaise with corporate sponsors as well as her guidance with TRIBAL events, is the real driving force behind gaining brand recognition. She also is an integral part of the strategic
management decisions and is more often than not a calming voice of reason in the office- yeah, we couldn't believe it at first, either.
Liam Knight (Head Bicycle Mechanic)
You know that guy in the office that seems to be able to whistle while strolling out of a burning building? That's Liam. Nothing ever seems to phase him; that's why we know he is perfect for looking after your prize and joy. No matter what you've done to your steed, you can rest assured that Liam will just smile and get to work on fixing it. At TRIBAL, we think his Zen like calmness comes possibly from the theory that he thinks maybe if he was injury free, he'd have a chance a being a pro trail runner. We not that's not the case, but don't tell him- you might screw up the aura!
Liam has a background in Science, but has recently made the jump to bicycle mechanics- while you read this however, he is not in SA; himself and King are in Switzerland, training to be fully accredited UCI mechanics!
Vukile "King" Makeleni (Bicycle Mechanic)
When we first met King in the TRIBAL offices, everyone thought that the guy was joking. No- one could be that good and that involved in triathlon, whilst holding down a full time job and studying at the same time. Then we saw him race! We're now believers. And what REALLY bugs us is that he is a fantastically nice guy too.
King's penetration and interlink to triathlon is too great to put down in a blurb. He is a qualified life saver, a sub 32 min 10km-er, a qualified triathlon coach, a PE teacher, a experienced bike mechanic, a multiple world triathlon
championship competitor and did we mention a sub 32 min 10km-er? King is currently with Liam in Switzerland training to become a UCI mechanic.
